Categoría I Bolsos hasta 1910 – Handbags until 1910 clasifica bolsos, carteras, limosneras o monederos antiguos.

Dejando a un lado el estilo rococó, que caracteriza parte del siglo XVIII, se abandona para entrar en el Neoclasicismo que triunfa con la Revolución Francesa.

Sobre todo se inician con la moda de la limosnera de principios del siglo XIX y que inmortaliza la corte de Napoleón.

Del Neoclasicismo pasa al Romanticismo y después al Realismo, en el vestido y en las costumbres, todos estos movimientos dejan una clara influencia.

Se muestran, entre otros, bolsos de la época Art Nouveau (arte nuevo) que es un movimiento artístico que surge en el siglo XIX y llega hasta la época Art Deco.

Este estilo se desarrolla en la Belle Époque tanto en Europa como en Estados Unidos. El nombre lo toma de la exposición que realizó Munch en la galería de París «La maison del Art Nouveau».

En otras palabras este movimiento adquiere diversos nombres en Europa: en Alemania se llama «Jugendstil»; en Italia «Floreale»; en Austria «Sezessionstil». En España recibe el nombre de «Modernismo».

En la otra cara hay pintadas unas margaritas con una rama. Todos los dibujos son pinturas originales. La limosnera se cierra con una cinta de seda sujeta por cuatro anillos de hueso.
